Kate and Andy – Newcastle
Kate and Andy had their beautiful winter wedding on New Years Eve! What a way to celebrate the new year in. And also, who said winter weddings aren’t gorgeous? This was stunning!! Kate and Andy live in London but are both originally from Newcastle, where this wedding took place. Surrounded by the ones they love. In the historic Jesmond Dene House, which was a 19th Century mansion. Now it has been turned into a beautiful boutique hotel.
The morning was cold and crisp but the sun was shining down. It was a beautiful winter wedding day! Kate and the girls were getting ready in the hotel, with champagne flowing. Stories were being shared and the room was filled with laughter. Meanwhile the hotel was in full swing, the ceremony room was being decorated and the florist was hanging up an incredible flower arrangement over the door arch. It looked absolutely stunning.
The Wedding
Kate and Andy had a humanist ceremony, the celebrant had taken time over a few months to really get to know this couple. The words were so perfect and so personal. It was the most beautiful candle lit ceremony, so atmospheric. A few of their friends also stood up to say some lovely words. They also included a Jewish tradition of stamping on glass at the end of the ceremony. It was a lovely nod to Kate’s family heritage without having a religious service.
Even though it was FREEZING cold outside, everyone got involved with a confetti line and a few group photos straight after the ceremony. Then it was back into the warmth for welcome drinks! After everyone had warmed up again and got a few drinks down them it was time to move back into the main room for dinner and speeches. The room was so grand and the table centres had such an impact, it looked spectacular!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
After the speeches had been spoken and the dinner had been eaten it was then time to party the night away! The dance floor had been cleared for the DJ and saxophone player. It was bringing me Ibiza vibes!! Such a cool party!! The countdown was on to bring in 2020. I stayed round until the end to celebrate the new year in with this awesome couple and their family. What an amazing night!!
