LAKE COMO ITALY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER……!!! HELLO?!?! That’s me….WOW!! I felt honoured to be asked to capture Mel and Cal’s special day in Lake Como. What and incredible setting to have as your backdrop to a wedding. I arrived into Italy a couple of days before the wedding day to soak up the sunshine and the views. They did not disappoint! This place is beautiful!! On the morning of the wedding I met Mel and the bridesmaid crew near where they were staying. We all got on a boat to get across to the other side of the lake.
There was a little uncertainty about the weather on that day, the clouds were filling the sky and threatening the day with rain. Mel and Cal had envisioned getting married outside with the lake behind them. Luckily the team at the venue and the wedding coordinators did their upmost to make this possible! So on to the getting ready! The girls popped the champagne and laid out a spread of super smelly cheese and biscuits. Day to day Mel is an amazing make up artist. So on the morning of her wedding did her own make up. She also applied the bridesmaids make up! How she kept calm all morning I do not know, but concentrating on doing something she’s always loved was a great help.
The wedding
The girls were looking fab!! And it wasn’t long until the boys arrived in their boat with beers in hand. It looked like something out of a James Bond movie! Definitely arrived in style. HORRAAAYYY The rain held off for the ceremony. Mel and Cal looked absolutely amazing as they said their vowels to each other. Then it was on to party time! More nibbles and drinks to be had. After a few photos and a chance to speak to their friends and family. It was time for the happy couple to be announced into the wedding breakfast. The speeches were amazing!!! The best men did an amazing job, all the guests were crying with laughter.
During the meal the heavens decided to open! With one of the biggest thunderstorms I’ve seen. Everyone gathered outside to watch this amazing show of the storm. Later that evening, after the weather had cleared up, I took the couple off for a few night time photos. Shortly after guests got their cameras ready, and congregated round to watch them cut the enormous wedding cake. Then on to their first dance and a beautiful father and daughter dance. Mel and Cal’s guests did not disappoint, they kept the dance floor full! What a party!! After the party had died down it was time to get everyone on the boat and back across the lake.
